In 2022, Nigeria experienced an overwhelming and devastating seasonal flooding which affected many parts of the country including Nnewi. According to the Federal Government Data, the floods displaced over 1.4 million people and killed over 603 people and injuring more than 2,400 persons and farming lands were also affected.
The aftermath of this flood coupled with existing high level of unemployment, insecurity, and tribal/religious conflicts leaves the vulnerable populations including children at high risk of disease outbreaks, malnutrition, and food insecurity.
Many families in the rural communities cannot afford one decent meal a day and this is the reason for Eunice Akosa Foundation Palliative Relief Initiative to widows, orphans and children with disabilities in 2022.

Neuro Saber is a nonprofit organization founded by Dr Blanca Nelly Mora, a physical therapist that specializes in Neurological Rehabilitation. She was working in a hospital when she saw a need for a place where abandoned and neglected kids, teens and adults with mental disabilities ranging from moderate to severe could get a place to live, be loved and get the healthcare, rehab, education and therapy they needed. She then decided to quit her job and open this foundation with the support of Colombian Child protective services. Right now she has 81 residents ranging in ages 12 to 55. They receive not only all their medical needs but a place that they can call home and feel so much love. The staff are mainly students that do their practices there and volunteers. We were very fortunate to experience how one place can change so many lives and we hope we can continue supporting this beautiful cause. During the December 2019 visit to Neuro Saber, EAF was able to donate toys including games, bracelets and a monetary donation. The 2022 visit provided an opportunity to celebrate the holidays with the children where EAF provided lunch and presents.
On July 4ᵗʰ 2019, The Eunice Akosa Foundation travelled to Montego Bay, Jamaica. School supplies and a monetary donation was made out to Barrett Town School, a free public school provided for children from low income families.
